The Sassy Cole Haan Mariela Air OT Pump

Oh…Em….Gee! This shoe is sasssssssy! I don’t have a witty personal experience to kick off this post, so I’m just going to dive right in.

The first time I saw the Cole Haan Mariela Air OT Pump, I fell head over heels for them…well, not literally! Please, this bitch knows how to walk tall in heels. Let me paint a little picture for you of what came to mind the first time I saw these shoes…

Picture this; you arrive home to a glossy white box sitting on your door step. Addressed to you from an “Anonymous Lover” you pull off the lid. In it, lies every girls dreams; a brand new pair of shoes! You can’t wait, you must try them on. You slip your newly pedicured feet into the sleek, smooth or patent upper peep toe shoe.

You feel as though you tower above all the peasants thanks to the 4.5inch heel. You and your luxurious leather insole sticks strut down the street while everyone stops and stares in awe just like they would at a Cole Haan runway show.

With a 1inch platform and padded leather sock lining you stop and stand comfortably to allow all your onlookers the opportunity to praise you for your sense of luxurious fashion! Awww…..the good life!

Now, we’ve all been told that if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. That being said, it’s time to burst your bubble and bring you back to reality…

What I Love

Obvs, I LOVE how hot these shoes are. For me, the bigger the better! I meant heel height, get your mind out of the gutter.

I love that the Cole Haan Marieala pump comes in 9 different uppers and offers cork bottoms as well as leather. Want to know what I love the most though? NIKE AIR technology is secretly concealed in each pair of Cole Haan heels to offer you superior comfort!

Now, if you’re like me and rarely wear runners perhaps you don’t know what this technology is. Let me break it down for you; Nike developed an air bag type technology to cushion the balls of your feet.

By adding this technology to the lining of the Cole Haan Mariela Air OT pump they are effectively counterbalancing the stress and pain that normally comes with transferring your weight to your toes when you wear heels. In lamens terms, they have created an incredibly comfortable, sexy pump!

What I Loathe

Something to watch out when ordering these online is they tend to run a little large. Some people have complained that even with half sizes they don’t quite fit, but lucky for you I’ve got a stellar little DIY on How to Stretch out your Shoes!

Some customers have said the shoe makes a squeeking noise when you first start wearing them. This is just the NIKE AIR comfort pads and with a little time the noise disappears, so no biggie!

A word to the wise; for all you amateur tower teetering gals, perhaps start with a lower heel and work your way up to this one. Maybe try the Nine West Danee, which is very similar in style but has a lower heel.

Told you, there’s not much to hate here!

Work It Girl

Thanks to the all that air bag technology you can sport these heels on any occasion.

Perfect for a power suit or skirt on work days and more than appropriate for a night on the town. As long as you can handle your heels after one too many wobbly pops, you’ll be fine!

If you have shorter legs and want to elongate them, try the sandlewood/cork coloured pump with a mini dress. The nude hue will give the illusion of longer, more toned legs! Ain’t nothing wrong with that, right?

If you’re aiming for a more casual look, pair with a fitted pair of jeans and top with a colourful blazer and you’re ready to go. The hardest decision you’ll make when pairing this shoe is which pair to wear!

And there you have it. I’m hesitant to love a shoe SO much but sometimes when you find something this good and versatile you have to listen to your sole…err….soul.
